In 1906, the following were identified as nations various American and foreign shippers hailed from, as their home port. The list is a bit odd to read. A number of nations were more accurately identified by the common term for residents, rather than geographical locations. For instance, the editor recorded Tahitian as a nation, rather than Tahiti. But, here you are.
So why mention it? If you’re doing a boolean search, you might do well to search on both.
